Kimberly Mintzer, LMHC-D
You might be carrying something hard to name, such as a persistent unease, a quiet fear that has settled into your daily life, memories that surface at awkward times, or a low-level despair you can't quite explain or shake. You may have told yourself it isn't serious enough to address, or that therapy isn't really for someone like you. Kimberly understands that hesitation, and she made it her goal to change it.
She became a therapist specifically to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health care in African American and other communities of color. That commitment shapes how she works: who she shows up for, how she listens, and the kind of space she creates. Her clients include African American women, first-generation Americans, and members of marginalized communities who have not always seen themselves reflected in mental health care, as well as professionals in leadership, early-career professionals, legal professionals, educators, healthcare workers, and college and graduate students navigating anxiety, identity, and the pressure of high expectations.
Kimberly meets you where you are. She will not tell you what to do or judge where you have been. She will walk alongside you, helping you understand your past and present experiences, process unresolved issues, and move toward the future you truly want. Her approach is individualized, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed from the ground up.
Clinically, she is among the most versatile therapists at Let's Talk. She holds certifications in CBT and DBT, is trained in exposure therapy and ACT, and has particular expertise in phobias, OCD, anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma. She draws on whichever combination of approaches best fits each person, using structured, skills-based methods when needed and more exploratory, relational approaches when they serve better. Her outcomes reflect that range: consistently strong across age groups, conditions, and cultural backgrounds.
Kimberly is also a couples therapy specialist and is trained in the Gottman Method, one of the most extensively researched frameworks for understanding and improving relationship dynamics.
The work is collaborative and tailored to your needs. You will create practical tools for managing symptoms, cultivate self-compassion, and learn to transform challenges into opportunities for growth.
