Aditi Verma De, LMHC-D

If you put more energy into holding things together for others than for yourself, bending, accommodating, and pushing your own needs aside, you might become quite good at it. So good that it feels like just who you are. But it isn't. The conflict, guilt, and quiet exhaustion that come with it deserve attention, too.

Aditi works with people who are tired of running on empty and ready to build lives and relationships that feel more authentic and sustainable. Her clients include creative professionals and artists, nonprofit and mission-driven workers experiencing burnout, professionals navigating leadership or career transitions, college and graduate students, and women of color who are balancing cultural expectations with their own identities, desires, and sense of self.

She is especially passionate about working with immigrants and children of immigrants, people who know what it means to live between cultural worlds, carry multiple identities, and navigate the pressure to honor where they come from while still creating lives that feel authentic to them.

Many of the people Aditi works with struggle not only with anxiety, burnout, or self-worth, but also with specific patterns in relationships: over-functioning, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, fear of disappointing others, and feeling responsible for everyone else’s emotional needs. Together, therapy focuses on understanding where these patterns come from, how they developed, and how to create healthier, more secure ways of relating to both yourself and others.

That passion is deeply personal. Having grown up in the Middle East, Central America, Canada, and the United States within a strongly Indian household, Aditi understands firsthand the complexities of navigating different cultures, expectations, and systems. Her understanding of these experiences comes not only from clinical training but also from lived experience.

Her approach is warm, direct, collaborative, and tailored to each individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model. Drawing on psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, attachment-based, and trauma-informed approaches, she helps clients better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, set boundaries, communicate more effectively, and move toward lives that feel more aligned with who they truly are.

Aditi also specializes in couples therapy and is trained in the Gottman Method, which helps couples improve communication, deepen their connection, and navigate conflict in healthier, more effective ways.
