Ms. Armando has received postgraduate training in psychodynamic approaches in clinical practice at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies, certifications in LGBTQ competency and domestic violence, and has extensive training in addiction, trauma, grief and bereavement and anger management.
Ms. Armando has expertise in treating daily life stressors, difficulty coping with adjustments and life transitions, resistance to change, existential crisis, stress management, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family discord, lack of primary and social support, self-esteem, eating disorders and body-image issues.
Ms. Armando offers an eclectic, client-centered approach with special consideration for holistic recovery, mindfulness and mind-body wellness. She believes that through therapy, we can find inner peace, authentic happiness and ways in which we can present ourselves genuinely: as flawed people working to grow. Her priority is the relationship that she develops with each client and is adamant that through this connection, an understanding of the underlying thoughts and feelings that drive behavior can flourish and then be utilized to begin and maintain desired changes. She feels that getting unstuck in life requires a perceptual shift, wherein we stop judging our ‘issues’ as failings but through self-compassion proceed to creatively light our path.
